Red & Wolfe, Part I

(Red & Wolfe #1)

by Ella James

When Sarah "Red" Ryder loses her job as an art critic for a Boston newspaper, she's brokenhearted. Worse than that? She's broke. Her boyfriend recently left her - for a tatted-up hottie with a dick - so she's stuck paying her hefty apartment rent alone. After two months unemployed, there's no money left. With no immediate family to turn to, Red reaches out to her estranged grandmother, a reclusive writer living on an island off the coast of Charleston. Several days later, Red receives $30,000 and an invitation to visit.

James Wolfe is not Red's grandmother. But he beckons her. Red has the ability to give him something he needs. He won't take "no" for an answer, and he doesn't mind screwing her over. He lost his conscience six years ago, when he was tried for the murder of his wife. Since then, life is about him - and the paintings he does under the mysterious pseudonym "W."

Wolfe needs the island to keep painting. To live his life away from prying eyes. To keep up the anonymity of "W."

Once he sees Red, he finds that he needs her, too. And Wolfe will have her. Any way he can.

THE REVIEW

Hello! Well this will be a mini review, because this book or good, delivery is short indeed be read in a single day, and is the first part of 3 books. What's the story? Riding Hood and the Wolf in a very different point but with the same essence.

Sarah aka "Red" was a bad time, she's a redhead girl, very beautiful but is bankrupt, her boyfriend left her and the only way she have to get out of that hole is her grandmother, who incidentally does not even know her. On the other hand we have Wolfe aka "W" has a past that still will not see at all but it is mentioned, is handsome and is hidden in the place where Sarah's grandmother is.

The facts put in a mixture and the erotic ingredient, gives us good results, has a good structure and well-defined characters have characteristics that meet in an adult version we find in the story we already know.

This does not mean it does not have its own history, it has and with the stamp of the author, at first we are in the minds of both Red and of W, and that makes us see the story from different angles, the characters although have, as I said basic features of true story, have other characteristics that make the story own, Red is present  more open and actual  and Wolfe much intrigue but with a touch of mystery.

I liked how different it is, attractive and sexy, and leaves you with intrigue that will happen with this couple and also feel that the end was very fast, even so I hope to read the second part.

I recommend it to adults who want a different fairy tale;)
